My 2p worth:
- it's good to see people's real names and email addresses. Keeps
people accountable, makes name calling or other undesirable behaviour
much more unlikely to happen.
- it would be good to have the "reply-to" address for 928 emails
always set to the list address. That way I get the best of both worlds
- I can see people's real email addresses but I can just reply to the
list by hitting "reply" rather than "reply-all" and then having to
delete the individuals email address.
- mirroring to a news server is a nice idea, but not at the expense of
seeing people's names and addresses. Yahoo groups would also offer a
solution here (it mirrors all list traffic toa web forum).
My own take is that the list works very nicely and quickly just how it
was, with the exception of changing the reply-to address. I love the
fact that if I break down 200km from Calais, I can access the 928 list
through gmail on my mobile.
I'm planning on driving to Florence this summer - guys I may need you!!
