Is this a classic 9-3 rather than the later 9-3 S****ts Saloon (Sedan)? I
believe a 2002 convertible is the C9-3, in which case, you need to check
the
bulkhead hasn't cracked.

My diesel five door had a cracked bulkhead, which was fixed by Saab free

charge.
