IIRC, there are some cars with hose of a different size on each end of
the hose. Perhaps there is some sort of catalog showing these.
Maybe it would be easier to machine a connector and use two short
hoses with it. Increasing the diameter of the iron / steel piece is
also possble.
(I once had a job as "Head Mechanic" at a firm which had bought a
large amount of used equipmemt. My job was to figure out what each
item was and what it did, write operators manual if I couldn't find
one - same with service manuals and so on.
The boss started me off getting th P-U going and then told me to paint
the driveshaft a blue / gold spiral. It looked good, but wasted time -
and got me wondering.
Five weeks into it, the backers pulled out.
The pay was the most I ever made and I was on a pier on SF Bay, ten
minutes from where I lived and I was seldom bothered.
Anyhow, I found that a lot can be done with odd-ball bits-and-pieces
and equipment to adapt them. This proved useful at any places
thereafter.
