We have the same problem here in Houston. The traffic sucks, the humidity
sucks, gas is outa site, and it rains all of the time so folks leave the
Studes at home, if they come at all. In addition, we have a long-time
member
who has made such an ass of himself that many do not want to be in the
club.
He is better in recent years, but folks continue to stay away.(no, it
ain't
me-lol)

I think the chapter board needs to do a serious internal review about
what the chapter is all about.
What has the chapter done to make it enjoyable for the chapter members
to participate?
Not just museums, but fun stuff.
I'd do a roster search of Stude's to find out what SDC members are NOT
in the local chapter and contact them directly and ask them why.
San Diego is not Montana, where weather and geography are a major
factor.
Something is up (or not up) with the chapter (imoho)...
