Sex and the Studebaker (Wall St Jrnl)

by "Comatus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] " <comatus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 8, 2008 at 08:45 AM

In a May 8 letter to the editor commenting on "Hook-Up or Shut Up," a
review
of the book "Sex and The Soul," Wall Street Journal reader Dorothy Moore
of
Queens NY writes:

"...but does he really want to take the stance that students had less sex
back then? Or, more believably, is it simply that academicians at that
time
weren't writing about the 'goings-on' in the back seats of 1939
Studebakers,
and they weren't using casual, conversational terms to describe them?"

I have no brief (woohoo) on this issue. But Ms. Moore, who clearly knows
her
way around a 1939 Studebaker, has struck a blow for The Old Brand and
deserves our thanks and respect. Anybody in the neighborhood care to call
her up and, um, offer her a ride?
