Is Richard Branson notorious?  I thought he was rather admired in
general...

I never quite figured out why John Major was ever prime minister in the
first place -- nobody seemed to like him, he didn't appear to be very
smart, and he wasn't even charismatic or stylish (those huge gl***** of
his...)!  He was just sort of .... there.
