Not difficult if you have a new one :)  You can get the antenna mast from
ebay.

Take the back panel off (the one with the net), lower the rear seat, take
the side panel off, watch out for the plastic trim pieces, by now they are
really brittle and hard to replace.  Use thin-nosed pliers to unscrew the
top ring nut (if you have the tool, even better), watch out not to scratch
the paint.  Inside the fender one hex screw (10 mm) holds the whole module.
 There is a power harness connector as well as the coax antenna connector. 
You can open the module, take out the broken pieces, clean it up and fill
it with grease.  Close it, plug it in and insert the new antenna with the
gear cord. Turn the radio on and off and it will retract it.  Put it all
back together and voila!

Mine works for a third year now.
