Hi all,
I've been hunting for a used truck in the $15,000 range. The one
consistant thing I find is that dealers are unbelieveably dishonest.
There are also significant quantities of vehicles with worn out brakes and
front end problems.
Are there any current movements going on to set standards for used car
sales?
I was thinking about a national standard where:
1. brake linings would have to 50% or better
2. brake rotors must not be warped and in-specification for thickness
3. vehicle would be required to have in-specification steering
4. any salvage/flood damage vehicles would have to identified in all 50
states -- no more "title-washing" games.
