Oh, the planet will survive a while yet. People may find it harder to eke
out an existence but I seriously doubt there's much to be done about that
short of radical change on so many levels.
Let's be clear about the purpose of politics - it's the management of
economics and self-interest. So far as the planet is concerned, country
and government are irrelevant.
