yeah, but a modern mid-sized diesel could easily do that and not have the
same issues with batteries and zinc, or was it nickel?

or a mundano. Not sure those aren't both "bigger" cars than the pious.
The Pious is a load of eco-wank, IMHO. Costs a fortune to build and in
the
real world it's hardly any better on economy than the more normal
cometition.
Best suggestion I've heard recently for solving the eco problem is
halophile
GM oil-producing plants, grown on current desert land with salt-water
irrigation.
But of course that's sensible and maybe do-able and hasn't got many
buzz-words and so it'll never happen, they'll pursue hydrogen which is
basically a non-starter instead.
