Would this work - petrol & cooking oil???

Due to the silly price of diesel I've been mixing cooking oil & diesel
in my TD300 - but of course the more cooking oil - the harder to
start, especially in cold weather so can't go much more than 50/50.
But what about going say 90/10 cooking oil/petrol. Would the petrol
help to make better combustion? Has this ever been tried? Would work
out at =A31/litre.
