Thanks. Plan F (or wherever it'd got to) is now on hold anyway: the bloke
has the motor on fleabay with a starting bid of 1850. "If it doesn't
sell,
I'll get back to you"
It's a mushroom-brown CSW if anyone wants a look. To be fair, it's worth
what he's asking, I reckon - but *I* can never get what things are worth
in
theory when I sell the sods.
The only bad point is the 'box. Personally, having heard it, I'd not
trust
it for long distance journeys. Aside from that the other kit that's on it
and the general condition (very good) makes it easily worth 1800 notes,
but
if you factor in a replacement box and fitting (which I'd do meself, but I
still need to factor the time) then you're talking getting on for another
grand, and that makes it a bit pricey.
So I reckon I'm, back to plan A, in fact: rebuild my 110 on a galv chassis
(which I happen to know where one is which I reckon I can buy). Still
would
prefer a LT230 on it, so if anyone has one in good usable condition (or
even
needing a new input gear) then I'll be interested. Probably 90 ratios
would
suit best - early 110 ratios might be a bit too low. Basically, anything
a
bit lower than the BW rangie box, which is a bit long-legged for the 3.5
engine in a 110.
as before, the BW box is available for swapsies, or I'd buy a usable
LT230.
