As it all turned out, I didn't need any shockers or spring retainers or
anything ... took left side off, eventually, found it to be a broken
spring.  With a bit of effort and creative jacking we got the springs
and shocks off and replaced them with no hassle.

So ... if anyone wants a pair of front and one rear shock for a Disco
300 ... or a pair of spring turret retainer rings + nuts ... ;)

All wennt well ... right up until i took it for a test drive, and the
front nearside wheel bloody fell off!  Can't have done the nuts up at
all.  Offside was fine.

Bounced up, broke mirror and mount, broke a lamppost at side of road
(31 x 10.50 BFG AT's so pretty hefty wheel/tyre combo when rolling
along at ~15mph).  Disco fell onto the disc, but low speed so coasted
to a stop and apart from some scuffing it's all sound.  Could only find
three wheel nuts.

Feel like such a twat now ... ;)

Can't understand it, I'm usually so careful, having driven lorries and
vans before where wheels have fell off .. twice ... :(
