Hi Folks,
I currently own a 360 "FE" engine that is about ready to be rebuilt.
So I figure since I'm gonna have it apart why not make some
modifications. From the information I can find the only difference
between the 360 & 390 is the stroke length and the amount of power
produced. So my question to you all. Can I buy a rebuild kit MASTER
REBUILD KIT
Kit includes: Pistons, Pins, Rings & Lifters, Rod, Main Cam & Cam
Barrings, Freeze Plug Set, Gaskets, Cam, Timing Set, Meling Oil Pump &
Precision Ground Crank. (pistons available in standard 30, 40, 60)
For a 390 and install it in the 360 block? will there be any problems?
Other modifications would be a performance camshaft (any
suggestions?), A new dual plane intake manifold & 4 barrel Carburetor
(any suggestions?), a set of exhaust headers and free flowing
mufflers, and depending what the cylinders look like, maybe a bore
job. This engine is to be used for a towing/hauling application so low
end power is important. Any suggestions or opinions would be greatly
appreciated.
