The "S" is a 390 GT engine. It is the only 390 available in a '67
Mustang. The exhaust manifolds are wrong for a shock tower car
(Mustang, Fairlane). They use 14-bolt GT manifolds designed to
facilitate spark plug access. The log manifolds you have now are from a
Galaxie, T-Bird, or truck, and are probably right up against the
towers.
You have a non-original engine (or at least the heads), and possibly
a non-S-code car that had a VIN swapped. There is a process we can go
through to verify things. Ultimately, a Marti re****t is the key, but if
the VIN is wrong for the car, it is no help. Tell me if you want me to
help, but the pace needs to be picked up a little. Also, it would be
good if you can upload pics somewhere.
