Well, "neutral balance" in the FE world really means "internal
balance", as opposed to the flywheel counterweight used on 410 and 428
engines (external balance). So, you would use a 390 'wheel for your
combo. I have yet to hear of a 4.25" Scat stroker that *didn't* take a
couple slugs to balance. It is maybe possible to piece together a
lighter setup with certain non-Scat rods and pistons. The 4.125" crank,
on the other hand, comes in pretty close most of the time.
I'm gonna bet Scat says their crank is OK. Then you'll be out
****pping twice. Homework homework! Oh well. The heavy metal is going to
be the ticket. I'm not sure the hatchet will index right, and they are
getting darn expensive. You are, IMO, better off using weight inside
the engine than hanging it on the crank snout.
