   See the other post I just made. That was my thinking last night, so
I checked out Holleys on eBay. Lots of 850's (one guy in particular
selling his because he wants to "upgrade" to a 950HP), lots of bidders
on them. Very little in the way of sellers giving detailed info on the
condition of the throttle shafts or component warpage or what have you.
Strikes me as a crapshoot.

   Holley is now selling remanufactured carbs directly on eBay. I would
tend to trust one of those, and then modify it to suit my needs.

   I also see replacement main bodies for "850-1000 cfm" carbs, as well
as new, modified throttle plates. None of them mention actual size. The
ones for the 750 are different. Toss in the adjustable-jet metering
blocks, and you might as well buy a new carb.

   I'm wondering now if there is an updated book on all this new stuff.
I think perhaps I'll still try my 750. It ran the 455 to 6000 pretty
darn well, although I didn't have a vacuum gauge in the car to check
for a WOT reading.
