390 idle timing

by "keng2" <keng2@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 11, 2007 at 09:28 AM

I recently replaced the dist. in my Mstng 390 which needed it so badly that

it wouldn't run with the vacuum advance connected. The cent adv springs
were
almost falling off and a $33 exchange dist at the local Auto Zone was well

worth it.Now I seem to have a new problem.I set the idle timing for 10deg
BTC and the engine performs well but starts with extreme difficulty.I
tried
a setting of 5 deg BTC and it starts great but of course doesn't perform
as
well. Is there a happy medium or should I be looking for vacuum leaks or?
