Code H 390 2V for truck...cam?

by OleTimer <up@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 11, 2008 at 08:07 PM

Who makes a good low overlap, low torque curve cam for an FE in truck
service these days, if anyone? Stock C8AE-H heads with stellite seats
and chelite valves, bronze guides, Autolite 2200, .030 over...plain
Jane truck engine, just looking for maybe a little more torque than
one gets from the stock 2V cam.

Also...is it worth, if I have hard valves now, retrofitting to
rotators? Another idea...does making a stock 390 into a 410 with the
428 crank give you anything except increased fuel consumption? I'd
think for a truck, shorter is better on stroke.

TIA
