Thanks. I still can't see the timing marks, there's just too much junk in
the way, even from underneath there is a broad crossmember that hides
everything. If you've ever seen a 440 Jensen you'll understand - it fills
95% of available space!
So I'm going to do as you suggest, I understand entirely the principle
thanks to your good explanation.
