You need to pull the harness 'up the column' actually.
It's not too difficult a job, but you'll need a little patience.
The connector at the bottom will likely need all the wires removed from
it.
So you'll need a pin (or blade) removal tool, which Radio Shack should
have.
Make sure you map out the wires in that pin connector so you can get them
all back in the right order.
Seems to me the only other tricky parts are steering wheel removal, and
you'll need a circlip tool for the top bearing.
