The "green" bearings are non-adjustable, while the OEM tapered bearing
pieces have an adjuster on the right side to remove the end-play. The
green
bearings are commonly used when a user switches to a spool for drag
racing,
since spools don't have the "button" in the middle for the inside ends of
the axles to touch (and make an adjuster work). The green bearings are
also
said to have a tiny-bit less drag. However, I switched to a spool in my
'68 340-S bracket racer (8¾" axle), and simply cut a piece of round stock
to
the same length as the "button" that's used in the OEM limited-slip &
Sure-Grip carriers -- and was able to continue using the OEM-style
bearings
& adjuster. :-) If your application is not drag racing, there is no
reason
to use the green bearing.
