Using a VOM or DMM, the reluctor inside the distributor should appear to
be
around a couple hundred ohms DC resistance.  If it's open, there's your
problem.  If it looks ok, check the gap... the specification is 0.008"
(using a nonmagnetic feeler gauge).  If the gap is too large, you may not
be
triggering the ECU.
