yeah amc used torqflites for a while.

back to the trans issue, its slow in down****fting from one gear to another
obviously. some of the transmissions used a few pistons and seals ever so
slightly undersized so they weren't sealing properly inside the clutch
housing. might need the upgraded clutches and seals. I had the same
problem in a 94 ( Chrysler, not jeep) and several trans guys showed me the
original clutch plates vs. the new ones. just a few thousands bigger but
makes a difference. being an 07 though, I would hope that's not the case.
could also be a sticking check ball or solenoid not functioning right, or
even possibly a speed sensor not knowing you have slowed down yet. its
worth a look to try climbing underneath and looking for anything that
might
have come unplugged. the old idea of "throttle pressure VS governor
pressure" for ****ft control still exits but its all controlled by so many
other sensors now. if its an 07 like you say, try looking for a TSB or a
recall like the ones I found here....

ask the service manager at your dealer if he even knows about them. ask
them if its worth while to hook up the "co-pilot" tester to the car and
drive it ( if they even have the software for it for 07). and if he gives
you the run around ask for the zone manager for your area, like Brian
said.
there's also a Chrysler tech on line over at rec.auto.makers.Chrysler who
is
damn good at this stuff. he goes by the handle maxpower, and he can help
you as well I'm sure. he's given me good information on more than one
occasion.
