That's a different behavior. When the convertor drains, you can still
feel it engage forward or reverse, but with the convertor half-full you
just get terrible coupling until the convertor fills. When the rear
clutch refuses to engage, NOTHING happens at all until it finally does
go, and then it engages normally. Been there, done both. There's really
no reason in the world to mess about with the "fix" for drainback (which
is nothing more than engaging the normal "Neutral" fluid flow in "Park"
so that the convertor starts filling without ****fting to neutral- and
I've always wondered why the factory didn't do it that way anyhow)
unless you're into the tranny already for some other reason.
