Actually, most of the later ignition amplifier boxes don't even need 
that extra resistor. It was moved inside the box on later versions. Look 
at the 5-pin connector on your ignition box- if it only has 4 pins, it 
has the internal resistor and will ignore the one in the dual ballast 
resistor. Actually it may not even be connected even it if HAS the 5th
pin.
