Eegods. NEVER, EVER buy an off-the-shelf "remanufactured" engine from a
parts store. If you're going to the trouble and expense of engine or
transmission major overhaul or replacement, you want and deserve the
op****tunity to talk with the people doing the work. The off-the-shelf
crapola is indifferently thrown together on an assembly line using
marginally-better-than-unskilled labor and cheapest-available parts. Think
about it: The remanufactured starters and carburetors and alternators and
*master cylinders* for chryssake are garbage, and an engine is a good bit
more complex and tolerance-critical and expensive.
