Sounds like a quality shop rebuilt your engine.  Ever read 'Zen and the Art

of Motorcycle Maintenance'?  The writer talks about the numerous trials
and 
tribulations of trying to get various shops to fix his Honda SuperHawk 
properly.  In disgust, he pushed his cycle home and took it apart and 
learned how to fix it himself, the quality way.  Good read.
