Hi.Rear brakes often stop self adjusting because of rust or lack of 
lubrication of the adjusting mechanism.If you open up the adjusting rod
and 
apply brake grease to the thread and then close it up again that usually 
works.A smear of brake grease wherever metal moves on metal is also 
good.Avoid contaminating the friction surfaces.
You can do that without dismantling the brakes.I find them easy to take 
apart  but a pain to reassemble.I am sure 'experts' on this newsgroup will

say it is a piece of cake.
If the linings are still good there is no need to replace them.Remove the 
ridge of rust from the drum and reassemble and that should fix it. Doug
