Re: 1988 cherkoee cigarette lighter issues

here's an interesting twist on all of this - been using just the cig
lighter adapater for now, since its still too cold for me to spend a
ton of time outside taking the dash apart to run all these wires...and
it's been working fine.

tonight, i come out of the bar after dinner, and the cig lighter and
radio both won't turn on.  i think, ok i blew the fuse...i have the
fuses with me (keep a set in the jeep all the time now), so i turn the
car off to get ready to replace the fuse.  just for ****s and giggles
(and i have no idea what made me think of this), i turn the key back
to acc...voila, radio and cig lighter power up.  turn the jeep back on
- radio and cig lighter power up.

what could cause this?  i found it very odd...keep in mind, it has
been working perfectly for the past 2-3 weeks...
