So...??? What are the codes?
On a 91, I would want to verify the body ground is solid. There is a
mesh strap that runs from the engine head to the firewall that rots.
When it rots, symptoms like yours happen.
Some have the body ground from the battery negative also. This should
be cleaned.
Second guess would be the CPS connector. It can be cleaned with a spray
contact cleaner.
