I would go look under the hood at the back of the heater motor and check
the plug in there, ours fried there. Then I would put a direct 12 volts
right into that wire to see if the motor spins up. I would let it run
for a while and then I would 'carefully' check it for heat. If it heats
up, well, it it time to change it then for sure.
Was the resistor pack fried? That is a bad sign if it was, it can mean
the motor is pulling too many amps. 'High' byp***** the resistor pack.
I have the recall stuff on the 99's, what year is yours? That is also
something that a thump can 'fix' tem****arily, but a thump on the dash is
more likely to have the effect.
