Replacing BA Headlamp globes....Help

by XR8 Sprintless <XR8_Sprint@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 1, 2008 at 06:02 PM

Blew the drivers side globe so went and got 2 new globes to replace both
sides. Looked at drivers side and decided easiest way to replace globe
is to remove battery and holder to get to globe. Globe end breaks as
trying to remove plug leaving one terminal inside plug. Not too bad,
easily rectified. New globe in all sweet lets look at passenger side and
put in new globe there. WTF not only would you have to remove the whole
airbox assembly to get at it, but you also have to move a small wiring
harness that runs around the back of the headlight. Stuff that for
tonight. Anyone know of an easy was to change the pax side globe?

Did the Ford designers have a complete brain fart when the made these
things. I used to be able to replace both globes in 5 mins in the Sprint
without having to spend half the day deconstructing it. I guess it's one
way to get the workshops to make money. Well sir there is an hours
labour to replace both headlight bulbs because we have to remove the
battery and housing, the airbox housing and then change them. Then we
have to put your car back together, reset the clock and the radio
stations. That will be $150 including the globes sir.....
