Personally I reserve that particular saying to situations where I
genuinely see someone locked in a life and death struggle, giving their
all for so long, and finally suc***bing.
As an example, I would consider it's use in the situation of a devout
catholic's (not that I agree with catholocism, but to each their own)
turmoil watching a loved one slowly and in perpetual agony wasting away
with cancer, but not being afforded the option (due to their faith) of
euthanasia/suicide or whatever.
