They can solve the problem of drive offs with a redesign of servo's but 
they won't do it because they will lose their biggest money spinner 
which is shop sales.
A servo near me used to have one way "spikes" that you drove over to get 
in and then you had to exit via a boom gate which only opened after you 
paid the ca****er through the window.
It was an independent but when the site was taken over by Shell they 
bulldozed it and went back to a standard servo layout.
BTW if George is referring to the big new BP near Calder Park I've 
filled the truck there and not been asked to pre pay, most likely they 
only ask you to pre pay late at night.
