I always wear gloves too
there are a few servos that recognise this problem
the Shell on Bribie Island Rd has disposable plastic gloves for you to
use and the Shell out at Tamborine Village has a box on those plastic
sandwich bags for you to use

but Daryl is right
it's those pigs that don't give a **** about the smell of diesel on
their hands and instead of letting the nozzle drain before hanging up
the hose they just pull it out and hang it up
diesel being an oil will seep and spread where ever it is spilled
and the nozzles being hung pointing up make it run down over the handle
