That is correct, however I prefer the look of no surface rust. Even my
turbo
charger doesn't have any. Exhaust pipe has a bit of surface rust where
it
is routed under the vehicle. It would have none inside it as the
carbon coating
from the diesel takes care of that.
But, yeah if we are going to nit pick, every vehicle has rust, even if
it is only
light surface rust on some components where it makes **** all
difference.
However salt spray whether on the road (road salting in cold
countries) or
ocean spray cause problems. Ask the 1993 'rolla or the 1984 Meteor I
mentioned. The later had the entire bottom of the door panel part
company from the bottom of the door - it was at a disadvage because
the honey coloured bull****e "rust proofing" goop they used when new
would have stripped the paint in no time. Only took 10 years for that
event to happen. That is in part why there is a 1993 'rolla that
replaced
it.
Salt and metal are not compatible full stop. In the basement of the
place
I used to live I bought cans of various auto and other products - the
cans
would rust in no time at all. Out in the country I don't see that
happen.
