Not, what I was (possibly trying to say) saying was that you mustve
reverse 
charged it once it was flat. Its not a difficult thing to do wrong at all.

Ive seen it done more than once!  Albeit not all on cars.

My FIL had a small flatdeck truck that had an exposed battery and he had
the 
battery pinched twice, he never reaqlly used it so he flattened a battery 
and reverse charged it as much as he could.  Left it in there (with
reversed 
connections so he could still use it) and that too got pinched.  We hoped 
that someone had stuck it in a nice new car and ****ed it on connection.
