but scramble to safety that did, all it takes is for some amature loser to
get it just slightly wrong and you could be looking at an ambulance to the
scene as well as the cops.
I'm sure it was just instinct rather than any real fear of being hit

A friend and I used to pull up at the lights and sit side by side looking
at
each other and revving the cars, then when the lights turned green we
would
just tootle of at a snails pace. I was with my mate as a passenger and he
did it to some mulleted flano wearer in a hot HR, the HR owner didnt see
the
unmarked cop car pull up behind him, we did!
so the lights go green this HR lights up the rears and shoots off the line
meanwhile we are just casualy driving away and laughing because there is a
set of blue lights almost glued to his bumper, in hot persuit :-)
