Petrol Head Heaven -Phillip Island Classic

I spent about 5 hrs today at the Phillip Is race track looking at the 
most amazing collection of old race cars I've ever seen.
About 25 F5000's, dozens of original 70's well known race cars like P 
Brocks original Torana's etc plus at least 4 Le Mans racers, one 
Benneton F1 car and dozens of Repco Brabhams and original Elfins.
I was looking a Camaro done up in the original Bob Jane team colours and 
I said to the mate I was with "I wonder if it's the original race car" 
and he replied "why don't you ask Bob Jane he sitting down just behind 
you":-)
Everyone was allowed to wander through the pit garages and I was 
checking out all the F5000's just before they went out for a race, the 
noise when they fired them up was unbelievable:-)
Unfortunately in one of the historic sedan races there was a huge crash 
just after the start which caused lots of damage but no serious injuries 
that I know of, it was bit sad seeing so many bent old race cars like 
the very bent Lotus Cortina that got hit it from both ends.
IMO a brilliant event not to be missed.
