I know I will get flamed but thought I'd tell you why I went with the Honda
over the Hyundai. Sure, there is a differnce in price but it shows as
well,
from finish to driving pleasure.
Honda Hybrid driveaway price $36,100.
i30 turbo diesel auto SLX $30,990.
What the Honda has that the Hyundai doesn't.
1. Cruise Control. For some strange reason, the turbo diesel does not have
a
cruise option, so Hyundai don't even manufacture one. An after market one
will set you back $1400.
2. VSA and traction control. Its an $1880 option on the i30
3. Uses unleaded 91. Diesel up here is 20c litre dearer than unleaded.
4. Both claim 4.6 litres per 100 but the i30 has a big "only if" attached
to
it.
5. Quality of finish. There is still no comparison between Honda and
Hyundai
for finish despite the Hyundais' improvements over the years.
6. Resale of the Honda over the Hyundai.
There were many other features the Honda had also and the drive of the
Hybrid is what took me by surprise. Don't get me wrong, the i30 is a
bloody
nice car and I would have bought it if I hadn't taken the Honda for a
drive,
but given the reasons above, I was swayed to the Hybrid.
