I've never played around with that stuff myself but when I used to fix 
backhoes etc a couple of powder monkeys told me that they use a mix like 
that and its more powerful than gelignite but its not easy to set off, 
they told me they use a small piece of gelignite with a detonator and 
fuse to set it off.
I don't know if a spark will set it off or not but if it does thats 
different to what the powder monkeys were saying, I've seen quite a few 
big blasts with the stuff and it sure does make a big bang.
