Thanks for the reply Steve. On many of the Aussie car forums, octane
booster seems to be universally denounced? So I have been quite hesitant
to even try any. Mind you, I've never used any of these octane boosters
before, so I have no personal experience.
My NA Impreza *hates* 91RON, just pings its arse off, I filled it up
with 95 today, this for the most part is 'okay' but still - when under
heavy load, it still pings. it's only on the 98 that is seems 100%
happy. My R34 - never put 91RON in it but I did put a small amount of
95RON in it last week, and when given a boot full, you can hear the
engine complaining above 6000RPM (engine light also flickers). 98RON and
no worries again.
Anyway, straying off the main topic - thanks for the info on octane
boosters, I might think about keeping a bottle of Nulon (or better) in
the boot. Cheers
