Have to agree with you on this.  What is it about Ford V8s that makes
them sound so good?

A close second for me, though, is the sound of a BDA twin-cam Escort
on full song.

Sorry, no, even an XF sounds better than a Holden V6.  Have they
patented that vaccuum cleaner sound yet?  As for the rice brigade, a
nicely set up WRX actually sounds pretty good to my ears.  YMMV.
