Im going waaaaay out on a limb here, I reckon that one of the best sounds
is 
a Stock VW at low revs, makes it sound like Summer with all the beach 
buggies on the go and Kombis everywhere.

Now if you want rev head type sounds then Id have to say that a fully
wound 
open chev with downdraft carbs comming in with that huge Induction noise 
then the roar past and then the nice exhaust note.

Only issue is that they can sound absolute **** if its got the wrong
Exhaust 
set up.

Glad to see that noone  has gone for the Rotaries!
