I think that even though they're an average vehicle as far as quality
goes, 
it's a very niche market that wouldn't see huge numbers of these types of 
vehicles on the roads if more people made them. The original Brumby was
(and 
still is in my opinion) about the best of the "small utes" and has a cult 
following today, but in it's day it wasn't an extremely popular vehicle 
which is why Subaru stopped making them.

Proton has the market all to themselves and struggle to make it worth
their 
while.
