It's almost a certainty, unless the box has been recoed sometime
reasonably
recently.

I cant comment there, as the autos I have had, all had unadjustable vacuum
modulators or combined kickdown/mod cables,.which I wasnt game to touch.
One auto-place said some of the adjustments are a toss-up, meaning,
improving one change,..1-2 also effects 2-3. So while you can get a better
change quality in one place in an old trans, it can, due wear, effect
other
changes.

If it is changing smoothly,..you dont need to worry about that "change".

10 yrs. I know of a guy with an old Valiant pushbutton trans which was
pretty well storked,.who got 12 more years by careful driving. Once again,
the idea is to leave it in a gear you need, say accelerating away from
lights,..then when everyone is cruising,..take your foot off the juice
just
before you drop it into Drive. After a couple of goes you'll get the
rhytham.

If you like it, and itsbody isnt real bad,..it will be worth it. Think
about
appreciation. The longer you keep it, the more it will be worth.
