This is interesting; at least they're taking the right approach after
having discovered the problem:
-----------------------
A strange engine noise has left about $50 million worth of brand-new,
high-end Subarus langui****ng in Australian warehouses and showrooms.
The Japanese carmaker yesterday suspended worldwide sales of several
Subaru models after identifying "less than 10 instances" of excessive
big-end bearing wear in models using its high-performance 2.5-litre
turbocharged engine.
The potential problem affects brand-new Forester XT, Impreza WRX and
WRX STI, and Liberty GT hatches, sedans and wagons built since early
January. Only 171 cars have so far been delivered to Australian
customers. Another 1062 will sit idle in Subaru's warehouses and
showrooms throughout the country while the company investigates the
problem.
