But that standard software comes at a price, does it not (pray tell)?

Would it, pray tell, make any difference if Alcatel/Ericsson/ExchangeCo
removed the Call Waiting facility from its basic software and started
charging $1 more for "XchangeOS Ultimate" which included Call Waiting?

If Avis is able to negotiate free airconditioning when replacing part of
its fleet of automobiles, does it then become wrong for Avis to charge its
car-hire customers more if they request an airconditioned vehicle?
