I use a NAVMAN S-80. because work supplied it. It's OK.
I would prefer a Garmin as I find their menu system easer.

I have a Garmin GPSMAP 60CSx for bushwalking and it has street maps in it.

It does'nt talk, just beeps when approaching a turn. It has far more
detail 
then the Navman and great bushwalking.

Also look at ongoing costs of updating maps too.
